At Mole Hill Bikes, we have 20 years of experience selling electric bikes and know that not all e-bikes are made equal. Many online brands offer low-quality bikes with little to no technical support or customer service. This can make it difficult to resolve issues when they arise.
That's why we only offer electric bikes from trusted, high-quality brands with a dedicated service network. We have been selling and servicing Giant, Liv, and Momentum electric bikes for 20 years and love their quality and customer service. Our Gazelle Ebikes are manufactured in the Netherlands, where Gazelle has been producing quality bikes for over 125 years. For a budget-friendly option, we also offer Aventon electric bikes with wheel motors and throttle assist.
ELECTRIC BIKE COST
Mid-Drive Electric Bike Costs
Torque-based mid-drive electric bikes, such as those from Giant and Gazelle, typically cost between $2100 and $8000. Compared to traditional bikes, these mid-drive e-bikes tend to cost an additional $2000. For example, a $3000 mid-drive electric bike would have similar components and frame design as a $1000 traditional bike. And a $5000 mid-drive electric bike would have similar specifications as a $3000 traditional bike.
Hub-Motor Electric Bike Costs
Basic hub-motor electric bikes range in price from $1500 to $2200. These e-bikes tend to have a $1000 difference in price compared to their traditional counterparts. For example, a $1500 hub-motor electric bike would have similar specifications as a $500 traditional bike.

ELECTRIC BIKE TECHNOLOGY
Giant/liv/momentum ebikes
Our Giant, Liv, and Momentum electric bikes utilize a mid-drive Yamaha motor and Panasonic battery system, with electronics and controls engineered by Giant. These e-bikes are equipped with six sensors that measure torque, speed, cadence, motor speed, slope angle, acceleration, and deceleration. This data is used to offer the rider five levels of assistance and an auto-assist mode.
The Giant e-bikes also feature onboard Bluetooth, which allows the rider to connect their smartphone to the bike via the Giant RideControl App. With this app, you can track distances, adjust the motor, and run diagnostics on your bike. We can also connect these bikes to our computer systems via Bluetooth to perform diagnostics and update firmware.
Gazelle EBIKES
Our Gazelle electric bikes are powered by a high-quality mid-drive Bosch motor and battery system. This system offers four levels of assistance and can be upgraded to include full-color screens and Bluetooth connectivity. We can connect to the bikes through Bosch's service software to ensure that your bike is running the latest firmware version and perform a diagnostics scan.
Aventon EBIKES
Our Aventon electric bikes come with a hub motor, which offers the option of using a throttle exclusively. These bikes feature five cruise control levels, allowing you to set your desired speed. The pedal assist works by accelerating you up to a set speed when the cadence sensor detects that you are pedaling.
