OUR ELECTRIC BIKE EXPERIENCE
In today's market electric bikes are fast becoming one of the most popular modes of transportation. Because it is such a fast growing market there are lots of brands and companies making all kinds and styles of E-bikes. The question is: with all of the different kits and bikes on the market how do you make sure that you are getting one that will last you for years and give you the best riding experience.
It has been our experience from 20 years of selling e-bikes that not all E-bikes and kits are created equal. Many online brands have little to no technical support, parts, and customer service. These bikes are great as long as they do not have any issues. However, when you do have an issue, many times it can be extremely hard or almost impossible to get the support you need.
We have chosen brands from within the industry that offer some of the highest quality and best riding electric bikes in the world, while having a dedicated service network. We have been selling and services Giant electric bikes for the last 20 years, and we absolutely love their bikes and the customer service they offer. Our other main brand, Yamaha Bicycles, we have just recently started carrying. However, Yamaha has been building Electric Bikes and E-Bike motors for over 20 years, and they have a great customer support and service system.
ELECTRIC BIKE COST
While there are more inexpensive options on the market, we have found that $2000 is the threshold for a high quality electric bicycle. Below this the bikes lose out on range, ride feel, and build quality.
Our E-bikes range from $2000 to $8500 with our average price being around the $3000 price range.
ELECTRIC BIKE TECHNOLOGY
All of our e-bikes have a Yamaha motor powering them. The Giant, Liv, and Momentum e-bikes are using a boutique Yamaha motor crafted specifically for them, while our Yamaha e-bikes are using the Yamaha's standard motor systems. Each motor has sensors that measure torque, speed, cadence, and motor speed, plus some even measure slope, acceleration, and deceleration. Each bike uses the data from these sensors to give the rider a natural and customizable amount of assistance.
Our Giant, Liv, and Momentum bikes have Panasonic batteries powering them, while our Yamaha e-bikes are using a Yamaha battery. The average distance per charge changes according to battery size, rider weight, assist level used, and terrain being ridden on.
On average we find that most of our riders are getting up to 60 miles per charge road riding here in the valley, and up to 40 miles in the mountains.
